Vermilion County Sheriff Information
The Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the life and property of all individuals living and working in the area. The department is comprised of two main divisions which are Criminal Investigation and Patrol. The Criminal Investigation Division is headed by Captain Michael Hartshorn. The Patrol Division is under the supervision of Captain E. Deck. The VCSD also has several specialized teams such as the Underwater Search and Rescue, the Special Operations Group, and the All Terrain Vehicle Search and Rescue. The VCSD is headed by Sheriff Patrick Hartshorn.
