The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is the largest law enforcement agency in the county. This department is responsible for protecting the lives and property of the citizens in the area. The BCSO is comprised of two main divisions which are Patrol and Investigations. The Patrol Division is responsible for responding to traffic accidents and service calls. The officers also conduct routine patrols around the areas covered by the department’s jurisdiction. The Investigations Division, also called the Detective Bureau, is responsible for investigating criminal incidents throughout the county. Boone County Jail Information
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office oversees the daily operations of the Boone County Adult Detention Facility. This facility can house up to 150 detainees. These detainees are allowed Video Visitation. All visitors must schedule 24 hours in advance in order to be allowed to visit. On-site visits are held on Sundays and Wednesdays. All detainees are allowed two 15-minute on-site visits per week. There is a fee associated with remote visits.
