The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office oversees the operations of the Shelby County Detention Center. The Jail Administrator is Robert McCall. The facility houses individuals awaiting bond or trial as well as those serving a sentence. Inmates at this jail are allowed visitation. Inmates with last names that start with the letters A through M are allowed visitation on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday. Those with last names beginning with N to Z can visit with family and friends on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday. Visitation is held from 8am to 3:30pm. Each inmate is allowed one 20-minute per week. Only individuals on an inmate’s visitation list will be allowed to visit.
