The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is the largest law enforcement agency in the county. This department is responsible for protecting the lives and property of the citizens in the area. The BCSO is comprised of two main divisions which are Patrol and Investigations. The Patrol Division is responsible for responding to traffic accidents and service calls. The officers also conduct routine patrols around the areas covered by the department’s jurisdiction. The Investigations Division, also called the Detective Bureau, is responsible for investigating criminal incidents throughout the county.
