Macon County Sheriff Information
The Macon County Sheriff’s Office is committed to creating a safe environment for the people living and working in the area by preserving the peace and enforcing laws. The department is headed by Sheriff Antonio D. Brown who serves as the chief law enforcement officer in the county. Undersheriff Howard G. Buffett is second-in-command. He oversees the drug interdiction program, the At-Risk program, and the DUI/DRE program. Lieutenant Jeff Scheibly heads the patrol division, overseeing the three patrol shifts as well as court security. Lieutenants Larry Auton and Jamie Belcher oversees the 2nd and 3rd patrol shifts. The Administrative Lieutenant is Lieutenant Jonathan Butts who also oversees the motorcycle unit and serves as the department’s internship coordinator.
