Macoupin County Sheriff Information
The Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office is the chief law enforcement agency in the county. The department is responsible for providing police services to the unincorporated areas within the county as well as maintaining a record of all traffic accidents, arrests, and complaints. The agency is also responsible for investigating all crimes of violence and fraud in the county, serve warrants issued at the request of the State’s Attorney, and manage the prisoners confined to the county jail.
