The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the rights, life, and property of all individuals residing, working, and visiting the county. It performs several duties including courthouse security, jail operations, processing of warrants, and maintaining peace and order. There are several divisions within the TCSO which include Patrol, Investigations, Crime Prevention, Court Security, Canine, Civil Process, and Corrections. The head of the TCSO is Sheriff Jeffrey Lower who serves as the Chief Law Officer of the County.
