Channahon is a village in Will County in Illinois. The population is 12,560 and the county seat is Joliet. Channahon’s name means “Meeting of the Waters” and the village is located at the union of the Des Plaines and Kankakee River where they form the Illinois River. The city                                                               is also home to the Channahon Park District that maintains parks, facilities and plans programs throughout the year for the district. The village is close to two trunk line interstates which resulted in industrial growth. A Mobil oil refinery, two petrochemical plants, a soybean oil production facility and support businesses make their home in Channahon.
