Elburn, Illinois is a village in Kane County, Illinois. The county seat is Geneva. The population as of the 2010 census was 6,602 in Elburn Illinois. It is a far-west suburb situated 46 miles west of the Chicago Loop. There is commuter rail service from the Metra station at the end of the Union Pacific West Line into Chicago. The village is largely rural, but the population started to grow when tract home developments sprang up. Elburn’s first large grocery store was built in 2007. Citizen were a bit apprehensive.
