Crest hill is a city in Lockport Township, Will County, Illinois. The county seat of Will County is Joliet. The 2010 census states that Crest Hill’s population at 20,837. Crest Hill, Illinois is home to the Stateville Correctional Center of the Illinois Department of Corrections. John Wayne Gacy as put to death by lethal injection at Statesville in 1994. The notorious mass murderer, Richard Speck was also imprisoned at Stateville. He later died in a hospital in Joliet.
