Oswego, Illinois is a village in Kendall county, Illinois. The county seat of Kendall County is Yorkshire. According to the 2010 census, the population is 30,355. At this time, Oswego is the largest municipality completly within Kendall county. From 1955 to 1979, Oswego was the town where Chicago residents raced and used the streets as a dragstrip. Muscle cars came to Oswego from all over the Midwest to race (doesn’t happen anymore, but residents still talk about it). Oswego is located along the Fox River and covers a total area of 15.63 square miles.
