Peoria Heights, Illinois is a village in Peoria County, Illinois and the county seat is Peoria. At the 2010 census, the Village had a population of 6,156. Peoria Heights is a suburb of Peoria and is surrounded by the city of Peoria except on the eastern boundary of Peoria Lake. The city boats Grand View Drive which is a residential street o top of the bluff overlooking the Illinois River. There are many elegant homes and country club on this road. Teddy Roosevelt called this street the “World’s Most Beautiful Drive”. The city is also known for its red water tower. You can go to the top of the tower and survey Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties. The tower is the nucleus of Peoria Heights Tower Park.
