Bradley, Illinois is a village in Kankakee County, Illinois and the county seat is Kankakee. There are 15,784 souls in Bradley. In the beginning, Bradley was a blue-collar village and most people worked at Koehler Furniture or the Roper Corporation factory. These factories closed in the 1980s, but since that time several malls, predominately the Northfield Square Mall, have been built and business began to be attracted to Bradley. The government is led by a mayor who is Bruce Adams. Technically the mayor is the Village President of the Board of Trustees and is elected or a term of four years. The job of mayor is not a full-time position, but he does preside at all the regular and special meetings of the Board of Trustees.
