Brighton is a small village that dates to the 19th century. Settlers began moving to the Illinois prairie and turning it into productive farmland. Brighton also boasts a five-star historic museum. There are three restaurants, two grocery stores and one traffic signal in Brighton. It does straddle two counties, Macoupin and Jersey Counties.
