Cary, Illinois is a village located in Algonquin Township in McHenry County, Illinois. The county seat is Woodstock.  There are 17,965 residents in Cary. In 1856 Cary had a train station installed for the Illinois & Wisconsin Railway. Next, they added a post office and soon the town became a winter ski resort. Cary, Illinois is famous for having a Burger King drive-thru only restaurant (2016). The village is a Mayor/Trustee form of government with a Village Administrator responsible for the overall daily administration of the Village.  The village offers many opportunities for residents and businesses. Cary offers cross country skiing in three different venues. They tend to get lots of snow.
