Des Plaines, Illinois is a city in Cook County, Illinois. The county seat of Cook County is Chicago. As of the 2010 census, Des Plaines and a population of 58,364 residents. It is a suburb of Chicago is just north of O’Hare International Airport. It is located on the Des Plaines River which runs through the city. In 2008, the Illinois Gaming Board allowed the state’s 10th and last casino license to Midwest Gaming and Entertainment LLC in Des Plains. The casino opened in July 2011 as Rivers Casino.
