Hinckley, Illinois is a village in Squaw Grove Township, DeKalb County. The county seat is. The 2010 census lists the population at 2,070. The Village of Hinckley has a rich history of settlement. In the 1830s the land where the village resides was discovered by r. Hollenbeck form Ottawa and originally names the Village Squaw Grover. In 1870 Francis Hinckley, placed a rail line one-half mile east of the Village. In 1927, the Harlem Globetrotters played their first road game before a crowd of 300.
