Midlothian, Illinois is a village in Cook County. The county seat of Cook County is Chicago. Midlothian is a southwestern suburb of Chicago. The population of Midlothian as of 2014 is 14,911. The village was formally incorporated in 1927. In 1949 Midlothian’s present Village hall was built at 148th and Pulaski. It is the permanent home for the village staff as well as the police department, and fire department. The Village was named for an ancient borough in Scotland.
