The village is a suburb of Chicago and is part of the Golden Corridor. The village is 28 miles northwest of the Chicago loop and 10 miles northwest of O’Hare International Airport. At the 2010 census, the village had a total population of 74,227. There are only two IKEA stores in Illinois and one of them resides in Schaumburg. Schaumburg is high on education.
